What happens after I place my Drum Head order?

What happens after I place my Drum Head order?

Custom Drum Heads - Bandit Band

Have you ever wondered how your drumheads are getting made so quickly? Customers are blown away how fast our turnaround is (3-5 business days) In fact, our turnaround is so quick because we use a rotating schedule, to ensure if your job comes in on Thursday it goes out Monday. If your order comes in on Tuesday, it goes out on Friday. This proven organizational method ensures you will get your drum head order in a timely manner.   Here is how our process works.

First, you get on our website VintageLogos.com, you choose your brand and size of the drumhead, you upload your artwork and then go on to place mic holes and drum company logos. After that, you go and checkout through our secure woo commerce site. Once your order is placed it comes to us, Jen prints out your order and then it goes into a colored folder, so we know what day we need to ship. It then goes to our Prepress department where they look for mistakes, for example, your file might not be ready to print because your file is too low resolution or you place a mic hole and it might cut off some of your text, etc. We want your drumhead to look great, so that is why we might go back to you and let you know if something does not look correct.

From our prepress dept, it goes to our print department where your drumhead is printed on our large format printer! It is cool to watch your vision come to life! After the drumhead is printed it goes to our production employee, James. He then proceeds to line things up and produces your drumhead (this process is top secret, that is why I left out some of the details lol. ) After your drumhead is made it goes to our cutting Dept, where they add mic holes, port rings, and Kickports. We have mastered cutting a round hole into your drumhead! Don’t try at home or at your own risk.

Your drumhead is now complete. It now gets handed off to our shipping department where Jen prints out the shipping labels using our shipping software. Once the label is printed it is ready to ship. We check over the order to ensure we have everything correct! Quality control is so important. We want to make sure if you ordered 2 drumheads,  you get 2 drumheads.  If you ordered a chrome port ring, we want to make sure you get a chrome port ring. We want you to get what you ordered.

Your drumhead is then cleaned off to ensure there are no fingerprints, we add our VintageLogos sticker to the top, we bag it in a clear plastic bag to protect it from getting scratched, and then carefully wrap it in brown craft paper and put it into the box with extra packing to ensure a safe journey to your house or business.  We add your shipping label and put it into the pile for UPS to pick up! Our UPS guy comes everyday M-F at 5:00 est. His name is Dave and he is a hard worker!  Your drumhead is on the way. Rock on and thanks again for your order!

We also offer many other custom products on our website. We produce Custom speaker grille cloths, Banners, Backdrops and more! Check us out if you want a high-quality product in no time.

Sincerely

Jen and Shawn

Advertising Space on Stage with Speakers

Custom Speaker Cloth

Promoting your band is crucial when your at gigs. The only way to get your name out- is to get your name literally out. Too often we see bands missing out on the advertising space that their equipment, like speakers, offers them. You know about our custom drumheads, but what you probably don’t know about is our speaker grill cloths.

When you see a band on stage you can notice 2 things usually… a drumhead and speakers! Now its known to put your bands logo or a custom design on a drumhead. It gives the drummer a sense of expression and it gives the audience something interesting to look at. Now- speakers are large, clunky, and kind of ugly. At vintage logos we wanted to fix that problem for bands across the globe.

That’s why we developed speaker grill cloths- we want to connect you more with your audience and by taking advantage of all the real estate on stage you can! These high-resolution mesh cloths are perfect for photographing during live performances and there is NO loss of volume or change in tone.

Why waste your time and money- start taking advantage today and order your grill cloths! Measure inside the bezel of the cab and we can fit it to size. We also include all the hardware needed to attach the speaker grill cloth. Most importantly they are so easy to take from venue to venue. You don’t have to worry about them taking up too much space.

We Answer YOUR Biggest Questions!

You ask. We Answer!

Welcome back VintageLogoers; It’s Aaron here and today I am going to answer some tricky frequently asked questions (FAQ) for you! Don’t worry- every question is a good question. I’m new to the team which means I am always asking the same questions. So lets learn a little 🙂

*If you’re looking for more in-depth questions check out our FAQ page here!*

DrumHeads

Drumheads come in all different sizes- but usually one shape… a circle! One of the questions we get a lot is “how do I tell the size of my drum?”.  No, we’re not going to take you back to high school geometry; its simple, you’re going to take a tape measure and measure the shell of the drum head from edge-to-edge. You will get an even number and BAM! it’s that easy.

Another question we usually get- and I am using brand names for the sake of the example. But “I have a pearl drum set, can you put a pearl logo on my drumhead?”. It’s simple- you choose the brand of drum head you want, and with our online DIY designer you can choose the brand name logo you’d prefer an even place it where you would like it!

Decals

“Hey Aaron, I don’t really wanna replace my drumhead because I have one I like- but I wanna change it up for different gigs, do y’all have anything that I can apply and take off?”. Well sir, I have the perfect answer for you- of course! As long as you don’t have a textured or coated drumhead you can order one of our bass Drum Head Decals which you can do just that! Email us for a quote. Playing in two bands- using the same drum set? No problem!

Banners & Backdrops

A Band Banner or a Band Backdrop can change the reaction of your audience and promote you in ways unimaginable. But- what size should you get? Everyone has their own personal taste and style. Some like a small banner 6 foot by 8 foot to perform at bars or coffee shops, others need something bigger  10 foot by 12 foot for their concert hall performance. No matter what size you need to fill your space we have options for you! Need grommets to help hang it up from gig to gig? Easy. Need a pole pocket to help keep your banner weighed down? Duh. Check out our Size Charts on our website that shows you an average man next to different size banners we produce. This will help you get an idea of the size you might be looking for.

Design Services & Quality

When you order from places like Shutterfly or Snap-fish- they print what you submit- they don’t care about quality or perfection. At Vintage Logos, we work hard to provide our clients with the best products you could ask for- we provide a professional review of your artwork and will diligently design and retouch images for the highest quality product.  We’re a small family-owned company that isn’t in the game to produce quantity- but rather produce the highest quality. If you’re not happy with your  drum head, or banner- which I am positive you will love, we will gladly take a call with you and fix the situation.

Well, I hope this helps you all understand a bit more about the products we sell at Vintage Logos and the pride and passion put into each project. We are happy to serve our wonderful customers and look forward to helping everyone brand their band. What are you waiting for? Design your custom drum head and your backdrop and let’s start taking your career to the next level!

See ya guys soon- Aaron!

Shawn McNamara (CEO/Creative Director)

When Shawn started Vintage Logos, over 20 years ago, it was a small one man operation that made custom drumheads for local bands.  Today, Vintage Logos has grown into a band branding experience, creating: drumheads, speaker grill cloths, banners and more for bands across the world.

Vintage Logos is proud to have worked with, Universities, Military Bands, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers and even The Rock & Roll Hall of fame its self.  Although Vintage logos has grown and much has changed over the years, one thing has remained the same, Vintage Logos is a Family owned company that puts an emphasis on, as Sean would say, “giving people a custom handmade product that they love”.

Shawn is a family man. He enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and is two children, Bella and Brayden. Together, Shawn and Jennifer have seen the world together and built a business.

When Shawn is not producing drumheads or spending time with his family he is experimenting with and adding to his extensive audio equipment collection.

James (Jay for short… J if you’re just lazy) joined vintage logos with a wealth of experience in production art after working in the screen printing industry for years.  He currently is the man behind the curtain that expertly creates the drumheads, speaker grill cloths, banners, and more.

After each piece has been designed and printed, he goes to handcrafting the finished products that our customers receive.  Driven by his humor he does it with a smile on his face , and he keeps the team smiling as well.

His favorite quote is “I don’t know how many years on this earth I have left. I’m gonna get real weird with it.” – Frank Reynolds, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

When he’s not working at Vintage Logos he moonlights as a Brad Pitt lookalike and/or the lead singer for Matchbox 20.
