What happens after I place my Drum Head order?

What happens after I place my Drum Head order?

Custom Drum Heads - Bandit Band

Have you ever wondered how your drumheads are getting made so quickly? Customers are blown away how fast our turnaround is (3-5 business days) In fact, our turnaround is so quick because we use a rotating schedule, to ensure if your job comes in on Thursday it goes out Monday. If your order comes in on Tuesday, it goes out on Friday. This proven organizational method ensures you will get your drum head order in a timely manner.   Here is how our process works.

First, you get on our website VintageLogos.com, you choose your brand and size of the drumhead, you upload your artwork and then go on to place mic holes and drum company logos. After that, you go and checkout through our secure woo commerce site. Once your order is placed it comes to us, Jen prints out your order and then it goes into a colored folder, so we know what day we need to ship. It then goes to our Prepress department where they look for mistakes, for example, your file might not be ready to print because your file is too low resolution or you place a mic hole and it might cut off some of your text, etc. We want your drumhead to look great, so that is why we might go back to you and let you know if something does not look correct.

From our prepress dept, it goes to our print department where your drumhead is printed on our large format printer! It is cool to watch your vision come to life! After the drumhead is printed it goes to our production employee, James. He then proceeds to line things up and produces your drumhead (this process is top secret, that is why I left out some of the details lol. ) After your drumhead is made it goes to our cutting Dept, where they add mic holes, port rings, and Kickports. We have mastered cutting a round hole into your drumhead! Don’t try at home or at your own risk.

Your drumhead is now complete. It now gets handed off to our shipping department where Jen prints out the shipping labels using our shipping software. Once the label is printed it is ready to ship. We check over the order to ensure we have everything correct! Quality control is so important. We want to make sure if you ordered 2 drumheads,  you get 2 drumheads.  If you ordered a chrome port ring, we want to make sure you get a chrome port ring. We want you to get what you ordered.

Your drumhead is then cleaned off to ensure there are no fingerprints, we add our VintageLogos sticker to the top, we bag it in a clear plastic bag to protect it from getting scratched, and then carefully wrap it in brown craft paper and put it into the box with extra packing to ensure a safe journey to your house or business.  We add your shipping label and put it into the pile for UPS to pick up! Our UPS guy comes everyday M-F at 5:00 est. His name is Dave and he is a hard worker!  Your drumhead is on the way. Rock on and thanks again for your order!

We also offer many other custom products on our website. We produce Custom speaker grille cloths, Banners, Backdrops and more! Check us out if you want a high-quality product in no time.

Sincerely

Jen and Shawn

VintageLogos Has The Best Design Services Around — Here’s Why

Every custom drum head we make is driven by people like you. We strive to help musicians and bands succeed, and we do that by improving their image with the best design services out there.

We seek to help you visually communicate your awesomeness to your audience.

But you probably have some questions, so let’s cover those now.

Why Should I Brand My Drum Head?

What is one thing that will make your band stand out from all the other bands? First, your music has to be heads above the rest (we already assume that’s the case).

But the next thing is to enhance your image — your brand. The best way to do that is to improve your stage presence by branding your drum heads and amp grill cloths.

When people look at you and your band on stage, whether you’re opening for an all-star group or playing at a Battle Of The Bands, they need to know your name. Custom drum heads do this for you.

Branding your band helps define your stage presence, sets you apart, and makes you look like the professional you are.

What Do Other People Think?

As we’ve seen from our previous clients, getting a custom design from us changes things for the better.

Here’s what our customers think about us:

“VintageLogos knocked it out of the park again! Best advertising out there! Super fast, and perfect every time!” – Tom

“This company is by far the BEST professional graphic company that I have EVER seen! They did a great job doing my bass drum heads, and people everywhere that I play just drool over my Custom bass drum heads! Way to go, Vintage Logos!” – Joey

“Great product looks awesome!!!  This is THE place to go for great graphics!!” – Jim

On top of our custom design service, we can also clean up your existing design. Maybe you already have a logo that you love, but it just needs a little help. Or maybe you have a photo that needs some retouching or photoshopping. That’s no problem — we can smooth it out, make it snap, and generally just clean it up and make it look professional.

Being A Drummer In 2019: New Year’s Resolutions That Offer Hope

Being A Drummer

I’m not going to tell you what to do. Every musician should create their own goals and career trajectory, especially because being a drummer in 2019 can look very different depending on the person.

But there are creative ways to go about reaching your goals. And if you’re looking for some New Year’s Resolutions ideas, this is the post for you.

Here are four things you can do in 2019 to boost your music career and give you hope for the future.

Join Or Form A Band

If you’re not already in a band, you need to be — especially if you’re a drummer.

I’m not saying drummers need a band to succeed, but the whole idea of drums is that they work best with other instruments. Plus, it’s just way more fun to play music with friends.

If you don’t have musician friends or you’ve just moved to a new city, you can look up a Facebook group specific to your area.

For example, go to the Facebook search bar and type in “Nashville musicians” and check out the groups that show up. Then post in that group that you’re looking for fellow musicians to start a band.

You could also meet people the old fashioned way — in-person. Check out local artists who are playing concerts in your area, stick around after the show, and introduce yourself. Make sure you have business cards so you can quickly exchange contact info and websites (VistaPrint offers cheap and good custom business card).

Create A Practice Schedule

You’ll never be in a band if you’re not good enough. Yeah, you could do all the right networking steps and connect with other artists, but if you’re drumming is not up to par, it will all be for naught. It will go nowhere.

That’s why it’s super important to have a practice schedule (you may already be doing this). Having a schedule keeps you accountable. It tells you to practice even when you may not feel like it.

Sticking to a practice schedule will make you a better drummer. And the better you are, the better chance you have of being a successful drummer and having a hopeful future.

Focus On Advertising Your Band

Once you join a band, that’s when things get fun. You can start practicing as a band, booking gigs, and getting your name out there.

The only problem is that last step — promoting yourself.

Many musicians cringe at the thought of advertising or promoting themselves or their band, but it’s necessary if you want to stay a band.

And one simple way you, as a drummer, can do that is to get a custom drum head with your band name and logo on it.

Find New Venues To Play

Once you’ve joined a band and practiced together, it’s time to get out there and start playing shows. You could play the venues that all the other bands in your genre are playing. But you can also get creative.

You can look into some more unexpected venues to play to tap untapped audiences, like people’s houses, certain restaurants, and local record stores. And as long as you figure out the right rates, you can make money as a musician this way.

If you commit to these resolutions for the new year and apply yourself, you may find yourself with more hope for your drumming career and a success-focused path.

How to Design a Custom Drum Head (Part 2)

In our last post, we provided an overview of the basic steps needed to design a custom drum head. Those steps included adding text, shapes, and artwork to your design, as well as configuring portholes and other design elements unique to drum heads. All of these steps were done using our free online designer app here at Vintage Logos.

Today we will look at the more advanced features of the designer app, as well as provide you with some design tips. This will help ensure that the design of your custom drum head looks just the way you want it: absolutely stunning!

The Vintage Logos Designer App: Advanced Features & Design Tips

To begin, go ahead and launch the designer app as before. You’ll initially have to select the desired drum head size and brand. Then, if you have a saved design that you’d like to improve or finish, you can open that. Otherwise, create a new design!

Show/Hide the Grid

When designing, symmetry is very important — you want everything to look balanced and even. An easy way to achieve that is to line up everything to a grid. This feature can be easily enabled by clicking the “SHOW GRID” button at the bottom of the designer app. Once clicked, a grid will appear over the drum head. Keep in mind that each square in the grid represents 2 square inches in real life.

If at any point you’d like to turn off the grid again, simply click “HIDE GRID.”

Align Your Graphics and Text

In a similar way as the grid above, aligning allows your design to look as balanced and symmetrical as possible. Maybe you want to move all of the elements in your design into the very center or perhaps you want to align your text to one side or another. Whatever the case, here’s how you can do that:

Take a look at the left side of the designer app. Each element you add to your design (text, shapes, clip art, etc) is organized in a menu there. When you click on a specific element in that menu (or even the element in the design itself) you’re given a sub-menu of various editing options. One of those options is “align.” When you click on that, you’re given a menu with various alignment options, including a link to “align all items at one time.” Simply click the desired option and go from there!

Move Layers Up or Down

When adding and manipulating elements in your design, you may find that you need multiple elements stacked on top of each other. For example, you may have a piece of text that you’d like in front of a background image. This can be achieved by using the Layer Up and Layer Down feature.

This feature is available in the same sub-menu as the alignment option above. Once you’ve selected an element of your design, simply click the buttons “to front” or “to back” in the available sub-menu. This causes the element to move towards the foreground or background in the design. In addition, the element is reordered in its position in the menu on the left side of the app.

Design Effects

Most of the elements in your design have effects that you can add to them as well. These can be accessed via the sub-menu for each design element on the left side of the app. Here’s an overview of the effects you can choose from:

  • Distort causes the element to bend or stretch from its original shape
  • Outline (available for text and shapes only) adds a stroke outlining each letter of the text or a stroke outlining the entire shape
  • Rotate
  • Blur + and Blur – cause the element to appear more or less blurry and out of focus
  • Opacity + and Opacity – cause the element to be more or less transparent, allowing visibility of the element(s) and background underneath
  • Shadow adds a drop shadow to the element
  • Flip and Mirror
