Bass Drum Shield Logo - Vintage Drumheads & Logos
Each shield has been designed and modeled after popular drummers from the 1920’s through the 1970’s. Customize your logo by choosing from our selection of shield crests, sizes, colors and vintage lettering styles. The shield logos are then monogrammed with your initials. We offer 2 different products; Shield Logos which you apply yourself or Shield Drumheads that we put together for you. We have been manufacturing Bass Drum Shield Logos for over 20 years and are positive you will be enthusiastic about the style & quality.
Shield Logos
Design your own Shield Logo and apply the logo to the drumhead yourself. They are easy to apply, just like a sticker. Logos are made of premium grade vinyl and will adhere to uneven surfaces and areas. They appear to look painted on because no backgrounds or clear materials are used. The background of your logo is your bass drumhead. Each logo is custom sized to fit and offered in 4 classic colors. Logos come with easy to read Application Instructions with photographic visuals. They apply in about 10 minutes.
Shield Drumheads
Design your own Shield Drumhead. We will professionally adhere the logo for you. Logos can be applied to coated, smooth, clear, simulated calfskin and metallic finish drumheads. We can also install mic holes and drum company logos. Your kit will now have a total vintage look!
Shield Crest Shapes
Vintage Shields are offered in 15 different crest shapes. Each one was modeled after famous drummers of the 20th century. Shield “B” is our most popular shield crest style and is the total classic look. Check out all of the Shield Crest Shapes.
Sizes, Colors & Lettering Styles
Each logo is offered in 7 different sizes and comes in 29″ length to fit most drumheads, longer lengths are available just ask. Logos are available in four classic colors; Raven Black, Bright White, Brushed Silver and Brushed Gold. Brushed metallic colors are made of metal and will only apply to smooth drumheads and simulated calfskin. Monogram your logo with up to 3 initials. Choose from our selections of vintage lettering styles. If you need to customize your shield with additional lettering, colors or special sizes, contact us.
Application Instructions
Logos can be ordered without a drumhead and you apply it yourself to your drumhead. Once applied they appear to look painted on the head. All orders come with easy to read Application instructions and a photographic visual sheet.
Brand Name Drumheads
We offer two products, Shield Logos and Shield Drumheads. Our Shield Drumheads are available in 14″ to 32″ sizes including tom-tom reso heads for converted floor toms and bass drums. The Aquarian brand drumheads we stock have a tiny custom “Aquarian Drumheads” logo at the bottom making the drumhead look almost blank. Perfect for that vintage look. We also stock Remo heads. These heads may have the manufactures logo on head and it cannot be removed.
Port Hole Options
Having a drum port gives the drum better projection and more attack. You can easily add or remove dampening and quickly change your drum sound by having a ported bass drum head. We suggest installing a mic hole port if you play live or where a sound tech would need to mic your drum for recording. The most requested bass drum hole size is 4 inches because it works best with printed graphics. Try and keep bass drum holes 1.5 to 3 inches away from the hoop edge when creating your design.
Simple Port Hole

Any size port hole can be installed. We suggest 4″, 5″ or 6″ sizes. Holes smaller than 3.5″ should only be used as an air release port. Try and keep holes 1.5 to 3 inches away from the hoop edge.

Port Hole Rings add a finished look to your drumhead. The two-part system is made of hard plastic which snaps together and protects the hole from both sides. Available in a variety of sizes and colors.
Hole Reinforcer
Hole with backer ring
Hole Reinforcers are a thin plastic ring which installs on the back side of your drumhead. They are lightweight, durable and protects the hole from ripping. Available in a variety of sizes.
KickPort
Drum acoustic maximizer
Add KickPorts for more low-end sound & punch. It increases attack & definition with improved feel and more power. Made of a hard plastic which protects the hole from damage and ripping. Available in a variety of colors.
Hole Placement Options
You get to choose where the bass drum port hole is placed in your drumhead. Check out these Single Hole Options and Multiple Hole Options. The Standard Placement is 4 o’clock. Try and keep holes 1.5 to 3 inches away from the hoop edge.
